Nature in a organisational context

what can nature learn us in the way we structure and prioritise our life ?
We have moved away from the environments we evolved in.
We spend more time between the 4 walls of the office than we do elsewhere.
Our eyes look no further than the 40 cm distance where our laptop or workstation is located.
We sit for more hours than we stand. we spend less time moving.
We look at artificial illumination instead of the natural lights.
We breathe poor air quality due to the pollution of the air.
We eat less frequently or foods of poorer quality.
That is no secret nor is it something most are not aware of. But what if we could take the concepts of nature, and use it as a framework, with which we structurally could build organisations and teams ?
We build organisational structures and systems that are not allowing for organic and lateral communication between all parts of its components .
Within that very system we then struggle to make the necessary changes when it comes to our wellbeing and personal sustainability, and the thriving of the whole company. We try different approaches but again and again we must change strategies. The systems become the obstacle we simply can´t overcome.
But what if what we are pursuing is already there right in front of us, and has been since we first crawled out of the water ?
The laws of nature still apply.
→ Billions of years of evolution
Nature has perfected the function and interconnections of all things.
Do we in an organisational context work against the flow of things ? Do we push agendas that are not making resourceful sense?
→ Minimum effective dose
Never spend energy unless it is necessary for thriving.
Do we spend too manny resources on things that do not contribute to all the parts of the greater system?
→ A localised structure
Nothing in nature are run by one centralized system. It is manny non cetralized reactions that allow for a quicker and more precise response.
→ Foundational requirements are never neglected
Nature do not spend resources on things that are secondary to the required amount of energy that supports the foundation of the most important things.
→ Adaptations to environmental changes
We evolve to survive. We do not survive by staying rigid and inflexible.
→ All systems must participate
Remove one part of the system and the structure will collapse over time.
Remove informations from the decision process and the outcome will become sub optimal.

Nature finds the path of least resistance. Even though it may seem like a longer route to success, it is superior in the long run.
