The divided soul

Do you sometimes get a feeling of having a divided personality ?

Not like a schizophrenic but more in the sense of putting on a different face for different scenarios.

One you bring to work, and one that you spend time with when you are off work.

Im talking about the different faces we put on during our interaction with other people.

A conversation with a client last week about having the courage to show, all the parts of his personality in a work environment made me think of the necessity for us all to remember not to compromise that part of us.

To stand up for ourselves in regards to not letting other peoples energy, intentional or unintentional, take over and divide our own.

If we doubt that the world will embrace all the parts of ourselves if we show them, chances are that we will never truly become in sync with our feelings, dreams, perspectives, and intentions.

Can we allow ourselves to be true to our inner most. Putting ourselves out there, and showing ourselves to people we might not even know that well ?

It can be easier to show strength that weakness. Or at least what we tend to see as strong and weak. In a corporate environment where the main focus is on performing and be succesfull, having anything else but a "strong and firm personality" is not always considered as a valuable trade.

The empathy and the intuition is often considered skills that are feminine, and that does not possess the same power as other more "masculine" trades.

But that raises an important question. Do you think that feelings, intuition, empathy, and gut feeling is something that you do not process yourself ? That those trades somehow is not important to you at all ?

Not a important tool if you want to perform at the highest level ?

Maybe you don't value those skills, because accepting them would force you to dig a little deeper yourself.

Force you to begin to become aware, and more conscious about what is going on inside.

Sometimes we use made up realities to hide ourselves from facing the most challenging questions.

To truly become whole, we need to embrace all the skills we posses inside. And use them.
